4. Stress-eating – Two-thirds of people eat more under stress, while the rest eat less. The stress hormone glucocorticoid stimulates appetite, and it can take hours to clear from the blood stream, prompting emotionally charged overeating. While sometimes stress is okay, if you allow it to positively influence you and/or challenge you towards doing better – but if you catch yourself eating a lot of unhealthy food and you have crossed the line of ”indulging” and are not just binge-eating, then it’s time to stop and take notice.
